Reforestation with 51 million trees

In the last 11 years, the government and the communities of Turkey have reforested forest resources like no other country. In the years 2003-2013 about 51 million small trees were replanted in the areas around Antalya.

But not only in the forest were new trees planted. Schoolyards, public parks, gardens, verges of roads, everywhere new trees grow. Trees and plants are the lungs of the earth and must be maintained. In Antalya approximately 67 875 saplings were distributed to students and residents. 800 trees were replanted in the gardens of prayer houses and mosques.

In Antalya alone 137 promenades and 3 city parks were designed and embellished with trees and plants in recent years.

Stork returns to Manavgat

For the past 20 years, a pair of storks always returns to Manavgat. Every spring they come back to their hatchery made-up years ago and stay the summer there. They will stay now until mid-September and will leave before the winter.

At the moment the neighbors are waiting for a little baby stork that is supposed to arrive very soon. The retired German teacher Petra Ottmann, who has settled down in Manavgat 10 years ago, told with pleasure that the news of the return of the storks is going around in the neighborhood. While the female usually remains in the nest, the male is collecting food.

Sample project in Alanya

As a part of the project "Disabled Tourism City Alanya" established already in 2011, the first shops were now rebuilt for disabled people. The first example is the store Defacto in the city of Alanya. Here wheelchair ramps were built, lifts and changing rooms for disabled. Even the shop windows were redecorated; there you can now find mannequins in wheelchairs.

The municipality of Alanya already has been working tirelessly on the expansion and renovation of the city for our disabled citizens. This is a unique project, which should be an example for many other cities in Turkey.

More and more destinations with SunExpress

The season starts promising. Now also SunExpress has expanded its flight destinations from and to Gazipasa. From this year on SunExpress will fly to Gazipasa from Cologne, Munich and Stuttgart. The subsidiary of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa will also begin later this season with more flights from Izmir to Lyon, Nantes, Paris, Copenhagen and Helsinki

SunExpress is currently the airline that flies the most tourists to the Mediterranean coast and the Aegean coast. The goal of the airline is this year is to create more than 600 connections for their passengers. In addition to the connections to Izmir and Antalya also other airports should be connected across Turkey to the route network of SunExpress. From Izmir 15 domestic and 25 international destinations will be connected to the network of SunExpress. The first flight from Izmir to Konya was launched on 31.03.2014.

The Airport in Gazipasa benefits from the raising network and the growing interest of Airlines to bring their guests to Alanya-Gazipasa. In the last in 2013 only three German airports where served, in this year SunExpress starts to fly to Alanya from 6 German cities.

"Wedding tourism" is getting more and more favorite

Among couples from all over the world the "wedding tourism" is more popular than ever before. In the last years Turkey won rapidly in popularity and is now place for many international marriage ceremonies. Now also a Russian couple has been rented a boat in Antalya to say "I do".

The 28 -year-old Sergey and the 24 -year-old Marina have had their wedding in Antalya, organized by a specialized company located in Antalya. As the company explains, the couple had imagined a wedding ceremony on the deck of a pirate ship in the port of Antalya for their dream wedding. Once the couple has given is newly-wed, they danced, enjoyed their time and let white doves flying as a sign of their love fly to heaven.

The groom Sergey knows Antalya already for 8 years from his holidays and is fascinated of the beauty and nature so that he decided to celebrate their wedding in Antalya . After the wedding the couple will spend their vacations in the beautiful Mediterranean city.

The organization and equipment of the wedding was conducted by Gülseren Ozdemir, General Director of the company. 4 years advertising and recruitment of guests have now borne fruit this year, Mr Ozdemir said. First, he is active on the Russian and in the Iranian market.
