Changes in the definition of European driving licenses

You have decided to spend most of the year in Turkey? Then you have to remember to possess in addition to a valid residence permit a valid driver's license. The European driving license is valid for only 6 months after entering in Turkey (this also applies to international). Therefore, the driving license must be rewritten.

The transfer takes place at the traffic police in Alanya. The office of the traffic police is in the same building as the foreigners’ police. To paraphrase, you need 6 passport photos and a Turkish and notarized translation of your driver's license. A vision test is required as well as the blood group determination by a hospital or an independent laboratory. The cost for the transfer to the police amounted to EUR 250. If everything is done, you go with all papers to the traffic police. They will take your fingerprints. This is routine for all persons who are getting a driving license.

For the application we recommend to visit a Takip Traffic Bureau, which helps with all the paperwork by paying a fee simple.

Starting this year, there is a small change. After applying for the transfer of the license, the traffic police need to get a confirmation that you are still in possession of your license from the traffic department in your country. Therefore, the waiting time increases unfortunately.

The ship came over from the port of Limassol, South Cyprus, and after the stop in Alanya it went on its way to the Greek island of Rhodes. The German guests visited the city center, went on a shopping tour and visited our famous castle during their stay. We hope they enjoyed it and come back to our beautiful city.

More blue flags for turkish beaches

In 2011, a total of 324 beaches in Turkey have been awarded with blue flags. Compared to the year 2002, these are 197 more beaches that received this award. Turkey now ranks on place four just behind Spain, Greece and France.

The Blue Flag is an eco-labeling, which each year is awarded to beaches and marinas with a consistently high standard of bathing water quality in the previous season. The Blue Flag is given out by an independent institution called the Foundation for Environmental Education for beaches in over 40 countries in Europe, South Africa, New Zealand, Canada and the Caribbean. The award of a beach area with a blue flag, points to a very high standard of cleanliness of the sea and surrounding nature.
